Travel Inspired Wedding Ideas: Invitations & Stationery

Who else is looking forward to Independence Day weekend?!

It kind of crept up on me. Earlier this week, I was chatting with a friend about getting together in July, and quickly realized that TOMORROW IS JULY. Dang.

So in case you're stepping out for the 4th, check out some of these great travel themed wedding invitations and stationery. Too fabulous!

Travel Inspired Wedding Ideas: The Wedding

So it's Wednesday, and I spent most of the day at the pool. Sadly, I don't own a pool, but a good friend of mine has a fabulous community pool in her neighborhood. With a whole separate adult pool - no kids running amuck! We even jumped into the deep end like kids. Simply marvelous. It's totally the way to survive the Texas heat.

Hence my late post today. This wedding is pretty much everything I can envision for a travel themed wedding. I simply love every last bit. It was first featured on Style Me Pretty almost 2 years ago but the style is just amazing! I LOVE IT.

Travel Inspired Wedding Ideas: Attire

Speaking of traveling...Has anyone else seen the show My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding? If you haven't it's worth a look. Or a gawk. It pretty much blew my mind and captured my attention for a few episodes. Not really sure if it was in a good or bad way...

But onto today's post! Attire. My thoughts were focused on a couple taking off after their ceremony or reception and jet-setting. So while I love me the Amsale wedding dresses I've posted, I think that the bride would change into a shorter dress for ease of traveling. As I was perusing photos, I found a lot of the dresses I was drawn to were also City Hall weddings. Just like Carrie and Big in Sex and the City. I just loved her City Hall dress. I mean, I totally adored the Vivienne Westwood dress, too, but the short dress at City Hall was much more them.

And I totally believe in finding a wedding dress that is YOU. And attire that reflects HIM.

Tuesday Shoesday: Traveling Shoes

So while I wouldn't travel in these shoes, personally, the vibe and personality lend to back in the day travel. Back when you'd get all gussied up for a trip and look fabulous. These vintage looking Manolos are PERFECT for the bride looking for a vintage travel themed wedding!

Styled Board: Travel Inspired Wedding Ideas

So it's the last week of June. Where did this month go!?

As I was thinking about what to feature this week, I remember how when I was a kid, it was around this time of the year and my family and I would go on vacation. Travel to a cool location or just take some time off to be together. So that got me to thinking about a travel themed wedding. And not just any travel themed wedding, but one with a bit of a vintage twist. Think airmail envelopes, old suitcases, globes, maps and stamps! I love it. I can't wait to share everything this week. Stay tuned for more!

Where is your favorite place to go on vacation? Or where would you love to go on vacation?

Happy Monday!

Photo credits were a bit tricky this week, if you see a photo that was improperly credited, please let me know and I will fix it. Many photos are found via Pinterest - please pin from a permalink, this helps to give proper photo credit :)

Brunch Wedding Ideas: Drink Bars

It's Friday! After Monday's chain of events, I didn't think I'd be so happy to see Friday! Cocktail anyone?

Speaking of cocktails, since the focus has totally been on the food, why not include the drinks too? I love these delicious drink bar ideas. From juices to mimosas (the perfect brunch drink), why not have a fun drink bar for your brunch wedding? It's 5 o'clock somewhere, right?

Brunch Wedding Ideas: Chalkboard Menu Inspiration

If I could do it all over again, with the knowledge I have now, I think our wedding day would have gone like this: small ceremony with our closest friends and family and then BRUNCH! Although, I must say that I loved every minute of our wedding and I wouldn't trade it for the world! Our reception was so so so fun and the dance floor was never empty. So perhaps brunch and a dance party? Sounds good to me!

So there's just something about chalkboard menus. And for a brunch wedding, I think having a chalkboard menu would be perfect.

Okay, now I'm hungry. Again!

Have a delicious Thursday!

Brunch Wedding Inspiration: Menu Ideas

If I have a weakness with food, it would be crepes. Seriously. It must be the time that I spent there studying abroad. If I am face with crepes, especially the Nutella kind, I cannot say no. There's just no way around it. So when I found this crepe "cake" on Style Me Pretty, I about died. Even if it's not Nutella, I'll just imagine that it is.

When I found this shoot on Ruffled, I just had to share all the brunch food goodness! Seriously, this is the way to do brunch at a wedding!

And I love, love, loved this idea for an Omelet Bar! What a great way for your guests to eat what they want in an omelet. My husband doesn't eat cheese, and avoids it like the plague. Something custom like this would be right up his alley.

What's your favorite brunch food?

Style Board: A Brunch Wedding

I'm happy to report that my car is back in working order. It just took a little bit of an adventure, from AAA and tow trucks and dealerships. I'm so happy that it ended up being a lot less than I expected. I figured it was going to run me a chunk a change. Thankfully it was only a fraction!

Here's the style board for this week: BRUNCH! I simply love me some brunch. I'm getting hungry just looking at this week's board. Who doesn't love waffles, pancakes, and coffee? Truth be told, I'd probably have a brunch wedding...or a brunch bridal shower, because basically, breakfast foods and brunch is the BOMB!

That crepe cake? I die! In a good way, of course.

Car Trouble Interlude

Oh for the love of car trouble. It's probably the thing that I dread the most. Probably because I know next to nothing about cars. Well, besides knowing that I have to get the oil changed, fill it up with gas, and have insurance on it. Other than that, ummmm, well.... Not so much.

So my car battery died. Dead. Kaput. No life.

On Saturday, as we were trying to get out the door to church.

I've spent the last couple of hours in a mix of trying to jump my car (with my hubby's help), wait for AAA, phone calls with the tow companies' status updates, and other assorted fun.

Alas, until my car is fixed, I won't have a board up for this week. I'm hoping to play a little catch up while I wait for the party to get started. In other words, getting a new battery.

Oh and the tow truck guy told me my battery was corroded. ACK! Great. Glad the car died before it could, you know, explode, or something.

So please excuse my absence...

School Themed Wedding: Location

So even if you don't have a school themed wedding, if you are high school sweethearts, and loved your high school experience, why not have your engagement session there? Rekindle that love in the place you met. I just love the following engagement session photos in a high school setting!

School Themed Wedding: Stationery

I'm loving today's post! It's stationery, my fave. And with all the ways to create and recreate school elements through paper? I'm totally swooning. I love the programs made to look like composition books. And the report card wedding invitation, as well as the chalkboard wedding invitation. There are so many things you could do for your school themed wedding - beyond my own imagination!

Happy Thursday!
