The Royal Wedding: Impressions

I was one amongst the millions in the United States who woke up early (or should I say napped for two hours) to watch the historic event of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton marry at Westminster Abbey.

I didn't know how much I would be interested at first, but as the big day approached I started to feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, ready to open gifts. I wanted to see Kate's wedding dress, which was kept secret for all these months. I wanted to see what Wills would wear, what regal outfit would be fit for a wedding. And I wanted to see all the pomp and circumstance that is a royal wedding.

This morning did not disappoint!

Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, wore Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and it was STUNNING. Amen to brides wearing sleeves again! I think sleeves have gotten a stigma over the years of looking outdated, but Kate brought sleeves on a wedding gown back to the spotlight.

The entire wedding party looked amazing with Prince Harry in his military garb to Kate's sister Pippa in a gorgeous Sarah Burton Alexander McQueen design - that I think a bride could totally wear on her wedding day. AND it's another beautiful and stylish way to wear sleeves! When I saw Prince William in red with blue sash, I couldn't help but think that he is Prince Charming. It definitely reminded me of Cinderella's prince. (Granted that's a cartoon, but it's not every day you watch a ROYAL wedding!)

I think the best part of the royal wedding was certainly when Wills and Kate pledged their vows to each other. I got chills as I watched, as I generally do whenever I attend a wedding. I mean, the marriage ceremony IS the reason for the celebration! And I'm thrilled that Wills and Kate are a great match and love each other. While I wasn't old enough to witness Charles and Diana get married, after viewing footage, you could tell that Diana wasn't fully ready (at only 19!) for the full responsibility of marrying into a royal family. But William and Catherine make a beautiful couple and I think that Princess Diana would be immensely proud of her son.

And to top it all off, the day was sealed with a kiss. Thank you Prince William and Kate for allowing the world to share your wedding day. It was a gorgeous celebration and I wish you a long and happy marriage!

While I'm exhausted from lack of sleep, I think it was totally worth waking up to watch live!

The Royal Wedding: Dress Inspiration

Dresses fit for a princess...or a queen!

No one know what Kate Middleton's dress will look like, and I'm certainly excited to see the big reveal!

Personally, for a regal wedding, I imagine a dress with a voluminous skirt. I love how these collection pieces from 2011 and 2012 lines have amazing texture and volume in an elegant way.

Who else is getting up early (or staying up late) on Friday morning to watch the Royal Wedding as Wills & Kate tie the knot! It'll be 4am Texas time, but I think I might do it. Plus, it'll be broadcast online on The Royal Channel on Youtube. I love how modern technology has made this possible!

Style Board: The Royal Wedding Inspiration

I don't know about you, but I'm super excited about Wills & Kate's big day! In case you're not in the know, the Royal Wedding is coming up on Friday and will be broadcast online to millions of people.

Considering that I wasn't alive the last time there was a Royal Wedding, I'm really excited about their wedding. I remember my mom telling me stories of hunkering down in front of the television with her sisters watching as Princess Diana processed down the long aisle of Westminster Abbey. It was an event to say the least! Now for my generation of brides and brides to be, this is the event of the century. I can't wait to see how the Royal Wedding changes wedding trends and shifts the fashion in the industry.

Prince William and Kate's wedding is sure to be spectacularly beautiful. And so just in time for the Royal Wedding, a little inspiration style board.

Hello and Welcome!

Welcome! I finally decided to start my own blog that will feature stylish ideas, current trends, and classic must-haves for your wedding. My obsession with weddings started when I planned my own wedding in 2009. Since then, I've been a huge fan of all things wedding inspiration, wedding photography, wedding stationery, and unique wedding ideas.

With the royal wedding coming up in a matter of days, I wanted to be able to jump in and finally start sharing my thoughts and ideas on everything related to weddings! I think there's going to be a huge shift in wedding style with Wills & Kate's upcoming nuptials. And I can't wait to see how it unfolds!

xoxo,
