Seaside Wedding Ideas: Engagement Session

If I had ample access to a dock and the sea, I would totally have my photos taken there. In a hot second.

While searching for ideas, I came upon this gorgeous seaside engagement session and just fell in love. It probably doesn't hurt that it was photographed in Portugal!

I just love the light in these, and if you want to see more be sure to hop on over to The Pretty Blog for more prettiness!

Style Board: Seaside Wedding Ideas

I cannot wait until cooler weather. Seriously. It's really quite unsightly to walk outdoors and break an immediate sweat. Alas, the perils of living in Texas. Which got me to thinking about the water, and seaside weddings. I've never been to a beach wedding, but I'd love to!

Enjoy this week's seaside wedding ideas.

Honeymoon Week: Tahiti

I've always wanted to go to Tahiti. It's on our bucket list. Especially since watching Couples Retreat, the resort they stayed at is AMAZING! I think for the ultimate in relaxation and beautiful sights, Tahiti certainly fits the bill. And who could say no to crystal clear blue waters?! It's just so gorgeous!

I'm excited that it's Friday. I don't think we have any plans this weekend, well except for my husband playing flag football, but other than that it should be pretty low key. How will you be spending your weekend?

Have a great weekend!

Honeymoon Week: Costa Rica

I've never been to Costa Rica, but I do have a handful of friends who went for their honeymoons and said they had a fantastic time. That it's absolutely gorgeous and a great choice for the adventurous couple. A friend of mine went ziplining (which is so fun!) and also told me about the beautiful beaches. Now I want to go!

Honeymoon Week: Hawaii

My husband and I went to Kauai for our honeymoon so it has a place near and dear to our hearts. We absolutely loved it. I swear time ticks by so much slower in Hawai'i! We were there for only 7 days, but our stay felt more like two weeks. It's certainly a honeymoon hotspot, and it's no surprise why. If you're looking for a place to relax and lounge around (as well as have adventures!) Hawai'i is definitely a great choice!

Honeymoon Week: France

I think I might be part French. At least in spirit. I simply ADORE France. French food, French culture, French wine, pretty much French anything....well, except the Metro in the summer when folks are not rocking some deoderant (just sayin') but otherwise, France would be the place I spend my free time and maybe one day retire. I'd love a little share in the South of France, sipping on Kir Royales, feasting on Moules-Frites, and ocean air.

Love.

Honeymoon Week: Greece

How is it the last week of August? How is September next week? Well, with the summer rapidly coming to a close...I thought about going on vacation one last time. To five different locations. So this week is going to be a little different, and I'll be blogging awesome Honeymoon Hotspots.

I went to Greek once as a kid and I totally want to go back. I see white and blue. Blue skies. Blue water. White buildings. And I may or may not automatically think of Mamma Mia and ABBA.

Happy Monday! And if you've started school, have a great week back!

Back to School Wedding Inspiration: Cakes

To top off a much sweeter week than the last two have been, today is all about cakes and sweets galore!

Such a cute school themed dessert table that would work beautifully for a school themed wedding. I just love the little crayons on the cupcakes and the apple cupcakes. Delish!

Now I just have to wait until it's date night time and we head to Restaurant Week! Woo hoo!

Have a fabulous weekend!

What are your weekend plans?

Back to School Wedding Ideas: Stationery

Oh paper. I think I mentioned it before, but one of my favorite times of the year is when all the school supplies are back in stock. Seriously love me some school supplies. New notebooks, new pens, and fresh folders.

I see a very stationery driven event when it comes to a back to school themed wedding. Just look at these lovely examples of back to school wedding stationery. I love it!

Back to School Wedding: Centerpieces

I'm super excited because Dallas Restaurant Week is here! AND, we're actually going to go. We missed it the last two years, I don't think we were really paying attention. What is it? A long list of amazing restaurants offer a three course meal for a set price of $35, and a portion of the cost of each meal goes to the North Texas Food Bank. Win-win.

Anyway, I was thinking about tables and centerpieces today and found these two cute centerpiece ideas that would work seamlessly with a Back to School themed wedding. I love how easy and simple these are and use pencils! and magnets! Love.

Back to School Wedding: Place Settings

Let's just say that this week, even though it's only Tuesday, has been infinitely better than the last two weeks combined. I finally met my friend's new baby, and he's adorable! It's been a long time since I've held a baby that small.

I found these super cute place settings, and while I probably wouldn't use paper plate for a wedding (except maybe a casual outdoor BBQ type reception), I think leaving your guests with some pencils or a notebook inspired menu could be so cute!

Style Board: Back to School Wedding

It's about that time of year again. Back to school time. The school around the corner from us starts back up next week, and to me this means a few things. I cannot leave the house between 7:30am and 8:30am or between 2:15pm and 3:15pm because parents are shuttling their kids to and from school. It also means that I can go to the mall in the middle of the day without teenagers. I feel like such an old lady saying that, but the last time we went to the movies, there were three teenage girls talking loudly and carrying on a full conversation DURING the movie. I'll be happy to grab a matinee without the interruptions.

So while I did a School Themed Wedding several weeks ago, I thought I'd touch on some of the super cute back to school detailed ideas, perfect for two teachers getting married or anyone else who loves back to school.

Camping Wedding Week: Invitation

I am ready for the weekend! Who else is with me?!

These last two weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, and earlier this week, I found out that a close friend of mine, who lives in California, was just diagnosed with lymphoma. I mean, how do you even react to the news of cancer? And she's only 27. My heart goes out to her as her new journey unfolds. I don't know many details yet, what kind or what her prognosis is, but I'm praying for her. If y'all are the praying type, please do.

Sorry, I hate to be Debbie Downer, but it's been weighing heavy on my heart and I just needed to share with someone. Y'all who read my little blog, I appreciate you. I really do.

So, to end on a high note, and top off the week of camping wedding ideas, I found this super cute save the date.

Have a great weekend!

Camping Wedding Week: Cake & Desserts

Sooo, in addition to S'mores... who doesn't love cake at a wedding. I must say that it's usually the thing I look forward to most as a wedding guest. Seriously. I found a few parties that had a camping theme to them, and I think that these could work beautifully for a camping themed wedding.

Camping Wedding Ideas: S'mores Favors

So apparently today is National S'mores Day! I had no idea, and did not plan for it to coincide with camping week. It's just perfect though, because who goes camping without making S'mores? I'm guessing no one, but as someone who has never gone camping in the woods, in a tent, (I'm more of a hotel "camping" type girl), I can't fully say. But I do love me some S'mores!!

And how PERFECT would S'mores Favors be for your camping themed wedding?

Style Board: Camping Wedding Week

Happy Monday y'all! After some major comfort eating since the less than stellar news delivered to me on Wednesday, I think I'm finally starting to feel better. There are bigger fish to fry and I know that there will be something else out there.

So while I was in California two weekends ago, camping came to mind. I'm not much of a camper, but the beautiful weather out there made me consider it. It was such a nice change of pace from the over 100 temperatures we've been having in Dallas. It's 38 days and counting. I just want a cool breeze!

Anyway, I pulled together a bunch of camping pretty for this week. Enjoy!

DIY Week: Shoe Makeover

Thank you guys for the kind words. I know something else, something better is in store. I'm just so happy the weekend is finally here! This week has felt forever long!

And to top off the week, I found this super cute DIY project to give your shoes a makeover. Personally, I'm not a huge shoe person. Actually, I think my husband loves shoes more than I do. (I love accessories and purses more!) So I thought that this would make a great (and inexpensive) DIY project to jazz up a pair of shoes for your wedding. Because really, white shoes for a wedding can be super boring. And who wears WHITE shoes again? I had brown patent pumps by Born, which were comfortable, but I changed into my Rainbow sandals once the ceremony was over. My feet are forever grateful.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

DIY Week: Centerpieces

So. I didn't get the job. It totally bummed me out yesterday. I thought that the position was so perfect, too. Augh. A small office environment. A ten minute commute. A job that I actually wanted. Well, what can I say, I think the hiring manager made a misjudgment. Then again, he was kind of "kooky" (as a friend described him) and he probably would eventually would become annoying to work for. Granted, that's just me rationalizing. But still. I'm grasping for some silver lining.

Here's a DIY project I found for centerpieces. While I think that centerpieces walks the line of a DIY project that should be taken on with caution (and I definitely think you should consult a floral designer for floral suggestions), it's something that can be personalized. However, I highly recommend hiring a wedding coordinator for at least the month-of, so that they can take over the setup of centerpieces and decor. And you, the bride, can relax and enjoy your big day with your love! It's well worth the investment.
