Lavender Escort Card Display

How simple, yet super elegant is this escort card display? Topped with calligraphy emblazoned escort cards, and the presentation is perfection.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend ahead!

Also, how is it OCTOBER tomorrow?!

Seaside Wedding Ideas: Paper

So, it's September. How in the world did that happen. Part of me feels like it should still be the beginning of August. The good news is that the weather will finally start to cool...oh to you know 80 or so. Today's one of those days I really wish I was at the beach.

I love how both of these invitations suites would be perfect for a seaside wedding.

Happy Thursday! And Happy September!

Back to School Wedding Ideas: Stationery

Oh paper. I think I mentioned it before, but one of my favorite times of the year is when all the school supplies are back in stock. Seriously love me some school supplies. New notebooks, new pens, and fresh folders.

I see a very stationery driven event when it comes to a back to school themed wedding. Just look at these lovely examples of back to school wedding stationery. I love it!

Camping Wedding Week: Invitation

I am ready for the weekend! Who else is with me?!

These last two weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions, and earlier this week, I found out that a close friend of mine, who lives in California, was just diagnosed with lymphoma. I mean, how do you even react to the news of cancer? And she's only 27. My heart goes out to her as her new journey unfolds. I don't know many details yet, what kind or what her prognosis is, but I'm praying for her. If y'all are the praying type, please do.

Sorry, I hate to be Debbie Downer, but it's been weighing heavy on my heart and I just needed to share with someone. Y'all who read my little blog, I appreciate you. I really do.

So, to end on a high note, and top off the week of camping wedding ideas, I found this super cute save the date.

Have a great weekend!

Ranch Wedding Ideas: Paper

Howdy from California!

Just a quick note to finish off our week of Ranch Wedding Ideas: Paper. I loved these gorgeous pieces both from Texas Ranch Weddings.

I guess a little part of me misses Texas, which is so interesting after living there for two years. I never really thought that I'd like living there, but now with our lives built there, and a new set of friends, it's actually not so bad. I just wish our families were a little closer than three hour plane rides towards either coast.

Enjoy!

Bohemian Chic Wedding Inspiration: Stationery

The interview was today. That's why I haven't posted until this afternoon. I'm feeling good about it. In all honesty, this was probably the first job interview that I've actually been excited about. So much so that I had a hard time falling asleep. I'm really hoping that my personality and passion showed through in the interview. It would not only be awesome to work there, but it would also help with the finances. We'd be able to SAVE money (for a rainy day and for future vacations) and have a little more wiggle room to play with. So please, if you pray, think good thoughts, send good vibes, or whatever the case may be, I'll truly appreciate it!!

Onto the stationery that is perfect for a bohemian chic wedding:

Nautical Wedding Inspiration: Stationery

I'm SO EXCITED about seeing Harry Potter tonight! I'm also considering how much caffeine to consume and/or naps I should take to prepare for tonight. We're seeing Part 1 at 9pm and then Part 2 at midnight...so that means we'll be home in bed probably by 3! And we're used to going to bed by 11:30. My husband suggested some 5 Hour Energy. Ha.

But on to the goods! Today I'm sharing pretty paper. Nautical themed stationery for your nautical wedding!

Wouldn't this make a lovely sign for your wedding and then an amazing art piece for your home!?

And here's a sneak peek at tomorrow's post:

Desserts!!

Happy Thursday! And to all those watching Harry Potter tonight, caffeine/nap it up! :)

Fun Escort Card Display & Advice

For weddings, there are certain things that you can DIY and other things that you should entrust to a professional. At least in my opinion.

DIY-able
I'm totally into DIY, and for my wedding, I chose certain things to DIY. I did the invitations, escort cards/favors, and table numbers.

This display is actually from the New York Gift Show, and Sweet Bella used it to show off their collection of Japanese masking tape. At first I totally thought it was an escort card display. It's totally DIY friendly. I think I'd choose a couple of tape colors that compliment your wedding colors -- OR if you need a way to show which guests receives which plated meal (beef, chicken, fish), this would be perfect!

On the other hand, there are definitely areas to hire a pro!

Hire a pro:
Photography - Please, hire a professional. I've heard far too many horror stories of couples either asking a friend or a relative to "snap" a few shots. And then being terribly disappointed. Or, hiring a really inexpensive/inexperienced photographer and being disappointed.

Flowers (unless by trade you are a floral designer, of course) - I've seen DIY flowers gone awry. I've spoken to a few floral designers in Dallas and many of them can help you maximize the flowers based on your budget.

Invitations (unless you know what you're doing!) - I DIY'ed my own invitations. I was very happy with how they turned out, however, I think that I lacked a good eye for design. If I were to do it again, I think that I would hire a pro for the design, and then assemble them myself. I think that could be a good compromise between hiring a pro and DIY'ing them.

DJ - I have been to the iPod wedding. Save yourself and your wedding party the headache and hire a DJ. If they are good, they are totally worth the investment. A good DJ will get the party going and encourage guests to get on the dance floor, without being annoying.

Above all, before you dive into the wedding planning process, sit down with your fiance, parents, or whoever is paying for the wedding and figure out your budget. Then prioritize what is most important to you - photography, videography, flowers, paper, etc. This will help you figure out how and where to spend your money.

School Themed Wedding: Stationery

I'm loving today's post! It's stationery, my fave. And with all the ways to create and recreate school elements through paper? I'm totally swooning. I love the programs made to look like composition books. And the report card wedding invitation, as well as the chalkboard wedding invitation. There are so many things you could do for your school themed wedding - beyond my own imagination!

Summer Picnic Wedding Inspiration: Stationery

Paper and typography are two of my favorite things. I think sometimes that maybe I should have majored in graphic design in college. Alas, I don't think it was offered or you had to go through the art department or something.

Nowadays I get my fill from looking at the wonderful invitations and paper goods that talented artists have created. These are perfect examples of what you can do for your summer picnic wedding. I'm thinking casual, but still gorgeous stationery, suited perfectly to fit your personality.

Lemon Wedding Ideas: Yellow Wedding Invitations

Oh how I love paper! There's just something...magical about it. Well, I don't know if that's the right word, but paper is just lovely. From the invitations to the escort cards, there are so many things that can be done.
